A Gorgeous Grunge Graduation with New In-Colors

DSC_3967This card is not for a challenge or promotion, but solely for providing enjoyment to a very special niece who is graduating this year from High School!  The years have flown by and will probably continue.  I am certain that college graduation will be just around the corner (sorry, Debbie… there is no holding that gal back).  Her wings have spread and our little world will be better for it!

Hoping not to embarrass my lovely niece, let me share some of my memories.  I loved shopping for my nieces (yes, Holly, this includes you too!) when they were little.  An aunt does not worry about how many clothes can be purchased with dollars but she does want to buy that special girly girl dress!  What I remember about young Sarah is that she was all girl… wanted to wear dresses or skirts and loved pink and purple.  In Michigan, dressing for the elements is important so my sister would insist that Sarah wear slacks under those dresses and skirts to stay warm.  Now she is a mature young lady who resists the girly girl stuff.  She is strong and beautiful in her own right.  She is smart and determined.  And, she is very much an example of our current youth that has a purpose and a vision for the future.  And this young lady loves Gorgeous Grunge!

Graduation, Gorgeous GrungeWhen considering Sarah’s graduation card, I knew that Gorgeous Grunge would have to be center front stage!  I did not want to use any special school colors, but colors that were bright, subdued and lovely.  This card is a work of love for my niece.  I used some of the newest In-Colors (Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe) mixed with subtle colors that I particularly love.  Some of the stamp images are not Stampin’ Up!, some are not current Stampin’ Up! and others just make me happy.

Supplies Include…
  • Papers:  Tip Top Taupe, Macaron Mint, Naturals White, Whisper White, Envelope Paper and Blushing Bride DSP.
  • Inks:  Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, So Saffron, Blushing Bride
  • Stamp Sets:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Project Life “Remember This”, You’ve Got This (new), and Gorgeous Grunge
  • Tools:  Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies, Chevron TIEFolder, Apothecary Accents framelits (retiring)
  • Accessories:  Neutral Brads, Bermuda Bay sequin trim, Burlap Ribbon

Graduation, Gorgeous GrungeThe Mini Treat Bag (made using the new Envelope Paper) is also decorated with Gorgeous Grunge and elements from the thinlits.  It will be inserted inside the card to hold a graduation gift for Sarah.

I hope you have enjoyed my use of new and old stamping products.  If so, please leave me a comment.  And, please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Happy Graduation, Sarah! Love you so much….

Katy

Oh, Katy, no one can make a gift from the heart like you! This graduation card is so beautiful and since it is currently residing on my mantle I can honestly say that it is so much prettier in person! Your attention to detail is impeccable! I wish I have your talent with collage stamping. Mine just never looks right. Thank you again for your beautiful creations and loving my great kids as much as you do!
