A Balloon Bash is not what I anticipated for my New Year’s Eve celebration, but I bet there were some that did include lots of balloons! Hope that your eve gatherings were festive and that you are ready for the New Year. The Pals Paper Arts teams have new faces and new color/sketch challenges to guide your creativity. I love the idea of starting fresh… it reminds me of my youth when starting school with a clean slate. This is the PPA 234 color challenge…
I have used the blue and silver color combination several times recently but generally for a holiday theme. This time I decided to showcase one of the new birthday stamp sets being released in the Occasions catalog on January 6, 2015. It is called Balloon Bash, and it contains 8 great images.
In addition to the Night of Navy and Wisteria Wonder cardstock, Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Silver Foil Sheets and Whisper White cardstock were added as various layers. Although the Adorning Accents Edgelits have retired, my silver foil edge contains one of those shapes with paper piercing using the Essentials template for both sides of the image. The Yay balloon is Night of Navy ink stamped on Wisteria Wonder cardstock and fussy cut to be tied into the ribbon knot. The banner came from a second stamp image of VersaMark and Silver emboss powder onto Night of Navy cardstock. It is shaped and adhered just a bit above the inked image underneath to provide a shadow effect. A length of 1/8″ Silver ribbon and additional bits of vintage silver fluff and organza ribbon provide the festive finish.
Won’t you come join the color challenge this week at the Pals Paper Arts? The design team has provided inspiration which can be seen by clicking here.
