I am providing a current stamp set “redo” for my reminder post. Actually I cannot even call it current because it is another sneak peek of an upcoming hostess stamp set Best Thoughts in the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up Catalog. I used this stamp set a couple of weeks ago to provide you with an idea of the new In-Colors. This time I have embossed the flower blossom on Shimmery White cardstock using black emboss powder and watercolored the flower and leaf petals. Truth be told, this is the second attempt to color the flower. My first attempt was with inks and a blender pen, but I was very disappointed in my results.
The inks from Cucumber Crush, Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder were applied using an Aqua Painter. I also added Delightful Dijon ink to the flower stamens using the SU marker. When you look at this flower image from Best Thoughts, there are dots on some of the petals. I added the Watermelon Wonder ink only on those areas. I applied some shadowing to the image. Tip… to obtain concentrated color for the small areas, I dipped the point of the Aqua Painter directly in the stamp pad.
The sentiment “The best is yet to come” is stamped with Tip Top Taupe ink and the piece of designer paper comes from the new “Cherry on Top” designer series paper stack which has been redesigned for the new 2915 – 2016 catalog in a 6 x 6″ size. I really believe this size will be more flexible for your future projects. A little Watermelon Wonder ribbon provides the pop of color.
Hope you have enjoyed my new catalog sneak peek. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. In the meanwhile, consider playing along with Retro Rubber Challenge Blog by using your OLD floral stamp image. We are looking forward to seeing you in the gallery!
Have fun stamping,
