CAS Challenge for The Sisterhood of Crafters

Welcome to a new challenge for the Sisterhood of Crafters!  This one is hosted by our Sistah Vickie, and she has chosen the theme “CAS.”  You probably are already familiar with this card style.  But, just in case naught, it means “clean and simple.”  You want to have a lot of “white space” left on your finished card.  I personally don’t make a lot of CAS cards simply because of my love for layers and textures.  My Still Scene card shown above is about as CAS as I can get, LOL!

The stamp set Still Scenes is current in this year’s Stampin’ Up! holiday catalog.  However, so many other details are from my retired stash.

  • Fancy Frost Specialty designer paper
  • Naturals white cardstock
  • Pewter embossing powder for the sentiment on the card front

The paper and ink colors include Gray Granite and Pretty Peacock.  The sentiment inside the card was heat embossed with white powder over white pigment ink.

As you can see, there is not a lot of fuss and mess with a CAS card.  So won’t you give it a try?  We would love to see you in our gallery at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog.  You have through Nov. 10th to play along.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  In the meanwhile,

Have fun stamping,

Perhaps our aversion to CAS is hereditary, Katy! But you are just so much better at hiding it than I am!! Your card is so wonderful. The Naturals White cardstock was a great idea. I truly do love this bundle – it screams “Katy” to me. Have a great rest of your week, Real Sis!
