What colors do you see in this color inspiration photograph? I found this RRCB challenge more than a bit challenging as the colors seemed to change just a bit depending on my monitor. However, I did decide on Stampin’ Up! colors Lemon Lime Twist, Mint Macaron and two retired lavender colors Almost Amethyst and Vintage Violet. I used a brand new Stampin’ Up! bundle Eastern Beauty to play with the color selection. Whaaaat…. this is a retro rubber challenge. Therefore my design team card features a stamp set that debuted in Stampin’ Up!’s 2011 annual catalog “Faith in Nature.”
Again I got to enjoy some of my birthday presents given to me by Debbie… the stitched dies. So much fun!! Are you interested in the background used with the three images? I used tissue with Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped the images, colored them and pasted it onto the cardstock. Basically I followed the instructions in the Faux Silk tutorial provided by Splitcoaststampers. The only difference is that I forgot to crumple the tissue before I pasted it down. No worries… I like it! Also, the background has light stamping of images from Timeless Textures and Touches of Texture.
I also want to share the pictures from my color playtime using Eastern Beauty.
Ha, since I used a sentiment from Stampin’ Up!’s “Petite Pairs,” this card really could have been used for this challenge!
Ok… it is your turn…
Guidelines for a Retro Rubber Challenge Blog challenge entry…
- One of your stamps must be at least one year old.
- You must tell us how long you have had the stamp or its age.
- Do not link your new project to more than 9 additional challenges.
Remember, the primary purpose for this blog challenge is to use and breathe life into our older stash of stamp sets. Many of these are retired and unavailable for purchase except through individuals who wish to sell their retired stamp sets. These stamps were purchased originally because there was something in the set that spoke to our heart. You can give them a chance to speak once again.
