The PPA #247 color challenge is all about the color purple, specifically Blackberry Bliss, Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum. I love these colors, especially at Spring/Easter season! And the different shades that can be obtained by stamping the ink color off once or twice before applying it to the project makes coloration even more diverse. When flipping through the catalog for “purple” image choices, I decided on the stamp set Everything Eleanor.
I have not had much success at getting a good ink print from the large filigree stamp, but practice helps make perfect. I chose Elegant Eggplant for that stamp image. The three flower sizes were inked up with Blackberry Bliss and Perfect Plum. Some were stamped fully inked. Then I reinked, stamped off once and then stamped again on the Whisper White cardstock. My favorite purple for stamping off is Blackberry Bliss. It really changes! After fussy cutting all of the flowers, I had to decide on which of the flowers to keep for this project and which to save for another time. One more neutral color was selected based upon the lace ribbon that I have fallen in love with… Sahara Sand 7/8″ Lace Trim. The Blackberry Bliss thin velvet trim from the Artisan Embellishment Kit dressed up the lace trim to which was added a vintage Stampin’ Up! trinket. Jewel pearls are definitely a stamper’s best friend, so onto the flowers they did go! Did you notice the three Sahara Sand candy dots and scored single line around the card base?
The card inside features a die cut from Darling Doily Thinlit and a fussy cut bird and Sahara Sand accent (the Apothecary framelits do contain a framelit very similar to this accent but is much smaller… I wanted the full size). The sentiment is from the stamp set Lovely Amazing You, a wonderful photopolymer set that contains five great sentiments.
The following close up was chosen as my featured image but wanted to make sure you got to see it here as well.
So now it is your turn to consider playing along with Team 2 at the Pals Paper Arts challenge. They have provided lots of inspiration for you. Just click here to take a look at their projects.
