A Festival of Trees for FMS150

Using the new stamp set Festival of Trees along with its coordinating punch was just what I needed after being away from my craft space for a week!  It will be available to the general public beginning August 28… this coming Thursday, woohooo! That is also good news for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators because our purchase limits will be removed.  I had given a holiday stamp set as a gift (to a very sweet and deserving demonstrator) and am looking forward to adding it to my personal collection.  But let’s get back to my card for Freshly Made Sketches challenge #150.

Linda’s sketch would accommodate numerous images as evidenced by the large number of participants.

After a little playtime, my card came together as such…

Festival of Trees, Good Greetings

Did you catch the word “playtime”?  After using the new textured embossing folder “On Point”, I decided to brayer Early Espresso ink directly to the textured paper.  It was not the result I expected, but must admit I rather liked it!  The trees were stamped with Garden Green and Early Espresso inks to which clear embossing powder was added.  It gives a very nice sheen to the trees.  The Tree Punch was not only used on the stamped images but also on coordinating cardstock as a backdrop to the  tree images.  The bottom panel of DSP is from the Trim the Tree paper stack as is the envelope liner. The sentiment can be found in  Good Greetings… more information on that stamp set will be available soon.  Additional close up pictures…
