Do you like using the color RED? If so, you will love this next challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters! Terri is hosting this challenge. The design team has lots of great inspiration in hopes to tickle your creativity. However, I will admit to being somewhat daunted by this challenge especially coming so close after Valentine’s Day. I really wanted to focus on a more subdued use of the color RED. After several attempts that ended in the trash, I selected Stampin’ Up!’s new Occasions catalog stamp set Geared Up Garage. The stamp set/die bundle contained two items I found necessary for my stamping stash. Specifically, the classic car stamp image/framelit and the large/small gear framelits. It is the large gear thinlit die-cut that is my primary use of RED.
My husband loves large boy toys such as classic cars, convertibles, motorcycles and small one-engine airplanes. You would think that my craft stash includes a lot of these type of images, wouldn’t you? Not so much! So when given the opportunity to add to it, I do, and Geared Up Garage was one of them. It makes a nice masculine card, and I know several guys that could appreciate it!
- Stamp Sets: Geared Up Garage
- Papers: Gray Granite, Real Red and Whisper White cardstock, Galvanized Metallic Paper, Classic Garage designer series paper
- Inks: Gray Granite, Tempting Turquoise, Silver colored pencil, clear (sparkly) Wink of Stella
- Tools: Garage Gears Thinlits dies, Rectangle Stitched Framelits dies, Happy Birthday Thinlit die, Brick textured impressions embossing folder, Corner punch
The black classic car on the inside of the card was fussy cut from the Classic Garage 6 x 6″ designer series paper. I used a piece of red designer paper behind the car, also from that pack. The boldness of the Happy Birthday die cut is perfect for use with masculine cards. It’s just enough punch!
I hope the design team has inspired you enough to play along with us this RED challenge. We would love to see you in The Sisterhood of Crafters gallery!
Have fun stamping,
