Goodbye to the PPA Challenges

ppa-324-oct27I will admit to being very sad about the decision to close the PPA challenges. It was the very first challenge that I participated in when first starting to play along with challenges.  But it was time to say Goodbye, and I will continue to play with other challenges.  The last PPA challenge is an unusual sketch by Ginger Toivonen.  It tickled my fancy and this is what I came up with…

Perfect Pear, Penny Black

When I saw this gorgeous Penny Black stamp “Perfect Pear”, I knew I had to have it.  I will admit that it was challenging to color.  This one was colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I want to try it again using Copics but will have to play with how much pear needs to be inked up.  I had also used VersaMark and embossed with copper powder, but that really did not provide the sweet details of this stamp image.  All in all, I am satisfied with the results of this coloration.

Card Details
  • Stamp Sets:  Perfect Pear, Touches of Texture, Shake & Celebrate
  • Papers:  Soft Suede and Shimmery White cardstocks, Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper, Peekaboo Peach Envelope Liner paper
  • Inks:  various Prismacolor wax pencils, Mint Macaron, Soft Sky

Except for the Perfect Pear stamp set (Penny Black) and the Prismacolor wax pencils, all other products are Stampin’ Up!

Thank you to everyone who had participated with our past PPA challenges.  Even though it is Goodbye for the PPA challenge, I hope to see you among the many other challenges that are available.  Should you have any stamps that are older than one year, please consider joining us at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  We will have many more “theme” type challenges than we have had in the past.  They seem to be a favorite, and we love having you join us in the gallery.

Have fun stamping,

Katy

Absolutely gorgeous, Katy! I knew that you would love that stamp the moment I saw it. You certainly did it justice as well as the very challenging sketch. Off to pin…
