This challenge is a favorite for most participants! It is Anything Goes so get going on your project and play along with us! It starts today and lasts through April 6th. The only stipulation is that you must use a rubber/photopolymer stamp in your project. Although most of my Heart Abloom image is digital based, the sentiment is from a 2012 Occasions stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
I purchased Heart Abloom from Power Poppy to participate in an online coloring class. The image is colored with Copic markers and detailed with PrismaColor pencils. I followed a tutorial by Amy Shulke, an independent artist and founder of Vanilla Arts Company. Only a couple of minor details were changed to accommodate my personal desires. Otherwise the inspiration for this lovely art work is attributed to Amy and the digital image to Power Poppy.
A dear friend of mine lost her oldest sister to a tragic accident. I wanted to give her something from my heart. This image is too large for a card and, therefore will be framed.
There aren’t as many Copic marker colors or prismacolor pencils as you might expect in such a detailed piece. That is an integral part of Amy’s teaching style. I found a piece of parchment paper in my stash that was perfect for adding the banner. It even has floral elements within the parchment. If you have any questions regarding what I might have used, please do not hesitate to leave me a message. To view more of Amy Shulke’s artistic work, click here.
