This handmade greeting card featuring the delightful House Mouse Crocus Droplet is just in time for The Sisterhood of Crafters new challenge. The theme is “April Showers” and is hosted by our design team member Vickie. I know that Debbie was thrilled with the participation for her Celebrate Spring challenge that ended last Sunday! Hopefully you will consider playing along with us this time and show your “raining” spirit!
Crocus Droplet is my first House Mouse stamp purchase! Now that I have explored House Mouse land, I may be hooked on this series! Who knew there was a sibling family of house mice named Amanda, Monica, Mudpie, Maxwell and Muzzy? Crocus Droplet features Monica, one of the gray siblings. Her youthful innocence really comes across in this stamp image!
I tried several different coloring mediums with this stamp set. Although the Copic coloring was my favorite, it was not finished in time for this post. This version contains an embossed image water colored with Inktense ink pencils and detailed with Prismacolor wax colored pencils. I used Finetec pearlescent colours to add sheen to the rain droplets.
Although the image panel may not showcase Stampin’ Up! products, everything else is! The sentiments are from Enjoy the Little Things released and retired with the 2016 Occasions catalog. Papers include Gray Granite, Powder Pink and Whisper White cardstock as well as Garden Impressions designer series paper. Additional product usage includes Highland Heather ink, retired banner and label dies, retired So Saffron ribbon and retired dotted scallop ribbon border punch. As many of you know, I love using my retired stash, LOL! I did mean to add Highland Heather enamel dots before the final picture, but…
I hope you have enjoyed my first venture into House Mouse land! Please let me know if you have any questions. In the meanwhile,
Have fun stamping,
