Humming Along and Diamond Shapes for The Sisterhood of Crafters

A bright and cheery get well handmade card that features SU products: #HummingAlong #JustFunStamping #SU #papercrafts #hummingbird #GetWell

There is a new and fun challenge hosted by Diane at The Sisterhood of Crafters that is all about diamond shapes.  I used a laser cut diamond shaped designer series paper created by Stampin’ Up! (SU).   It is behind the front panel of the  stamped images from Humming Along stamp set released by SU in the 2019 Occasions catalog.  Incorporating diamond shapes into your challenge card(s) could also be done with embossing folders, stamp images, and punches/die cuts.  Easy peasy, so please come join us this Sisterhood of Crafters challenge.

This card is intended to make the recipient feel better so my Humming Along hummingbird is visiting a bright and cheery hibiscus flower.  You may recognize these images from the prior post.  In that card I had used Polychromos colored pencils for both the female hummingbird and the hibiscus flower.  I recolored both of the images using my Prismacolor colored pencils.  Both sets of colored pencils worked out well with these images so it really doesn’t matter which of the sets you own.  With the second hummingbird image, I added a vibrant throat color to denote a male hummer.  As avid hummingbird enthusiasts know, the male is much more colorful than the female.

Although I did use colored pencils for the second hibiscus flower, I chose not to include it in this card.  Paper piecing a stamped image with designer series paper is an alternative to actually coloring the image.  And, I think it is quite pretty!

I added papers to the inside of the card, but left off the sentiment to be determined when sent.  Did you notice the diamond shaped die cuts on the left edge?  I love being able to use various die cutting tools from my stash!

Come on by The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog and take a look at my sistahs’ designed artwork… it is sure to please.  Then pull out your artsy crafty supplies, make a project that includes diamond element(s) and share it in our gallery.  We would love to visit you!

Please let me know if you have any questions.  In the meanwhile,

Have fun stamping,
