Life’s a Breeze for RRCB 43

RRCB 43 SummertimeIt’s time for a new challenge at RRCB, Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  This is a great summer theme challenge and anything goes with the details for your summer themed card or project.

As I pondered which of my old sets to use, it occurred to me that I had a set in my retired sets for sale that would be perfect for this theme.  It’s called “Life’s a Breeze”.  This stamp set of 13 images was introduced in the Stampin’ Up! Spring – Summer 2008 semi annual catalog.  After all, who doesn’t correlate a fun beach scene with summertime?

Life's a Breeze, RRCB 43, Summertime

Most of the images were stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then fussy cut.  I used a watery beach designer series paper from the Serene Scenery paper stack.  This stack has lots of great scenes useful for stamping on top of or layering on to.  It is available for purchase in this year’s annual catalog.  The designer paper is adhered to Blushing Bride cardstock and onto Sahara Sand cardstock.  Then I ran this panel through the Big Shot with the new Seaside textured embossing folder.  I love the texture it provides.

Finally, I carefully placed my images to create my beach scene and then adhered them with stampin’ dimensionals.  Between the card front and the inside, I used all 13 stamp images contained in the Life’s a Breeze stamp set.

So, have you been by Retro Rubber Challenge Blog to see all of the great projects provided by my designer teammates? We would love for you to join along with us this week!

Guidelines for a Retro Rubber Challenge Blog challenge entry…
  • The stamp must be at least one year old,
  • You must tell us how long you have had the stamp or at its age.
  • Do not link your new project to more than 9 additional challenges.

Remember, the primary purpose for this blog challenge is to use and breathe life into our older stash of stamp sets. Many of these are retired and unavailable for purchase except through individuals who wish to sell their retired stamp sets. These stamps were purchased originally because there was something in the set that spoke to our heart. You can give them a chance to speak once again.

Furthermore, does “Life’s a Breeze” stamp set appeal to you?  It is in my Retired Stamp Sets for sale spreadsheet.  That link is in the menu above.

RRCB #43 summertime “anything goes” theme challenge starts today and ends on July 29th.  We are looking forward to seeing you in our gallery.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Have fun stamping,

Everything old is new again. This so reminds me of the Swirly Bird cards people are making. I love how you created the shoreline with the textured embossing folder… really highlights shore, beach and sea. The accessories are a fun addition!

Katy, your sweet beachy scene is just adorable, what fun little images you have in this set, love the “waves” you created with the embossing folder, the colors are so bright and fabulous for your beach accessories.
Impressive fussy cutting, awesome Summer card.

OMG I love this fun scene Katy, can’t believe you stamped and fussy cut the majority of the stamps in the set – dedication, but worth it, so bright and fun makes me long for my Summer Holiday. Cx

I adore this card! I immediately thought – if Katy has all of these goodies in real life then I would want to hang out with you in the summer! Love the detail and your clever creativity!
