Merry Moments and Holidays Fancy Foil for PPA

PPA 276 Nov. 19Pals Paper Arts challenge 276 is a sketch challenge this week.  How will you interpret this Kerry Willard Bray sketch? I saw it as an opportunity to let the beautiful Stampin’ Up! designer papers shine on their own.

I spent some time matching the Holidays Fancy Foil Vellum with the Merry Moments designer series papers, both the DSP from the annual catalog as well as the paper stack from the Holiday catalog.  Looking for the right papers to complement each other was lots of fun.  After I found the right selection for this challenge, I had to continue to match additional possibilities.  Although these additional matches are not yet decorated, I will provide several samples at the bottom of this post.  I would love to hear your thoughts on the matches…

Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies, Merry Moments DSP, Holiday Fancy Foil VellumThe red foil diagonal stripes with another diagonal stripe going criss-cross gave a lovely plaid effect.  Adding the 3/8″ gold glitter ribbon on top of the white satin ribbon along with the Home for Christmas designer buttons provided detail for the left side of the card.  The “falala” was die cut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and then sponged with Mossy Meadow ink.  It provided very subtle green coloring.  The image was adhered to Mossy Meadow cardstock.  Mossy Meadow is difficult to photograph… some of the images below make it look black, but, believe me, I did not use black cardstock.

Now for a couple of other combinations…

So, what do you think about the matching of vellum with designer paper?  I would love to hear your thoughts.  There are several other pairings that I will be showing you soon.

Hope you will play along with us this week!  If you have not seen the inspiration provided by my fellow teammates, please click here.  Hope to see you in the gallery…

Have fun stamping,

Katy

Katy, wonderful holiday cards to add to your stack to send very soon! I also have been layering the vellum with other DSP and really love your combinations. The plaid is great! Mossy Meadow is the perfect green for lovely natural holiday cards. Great use of those holiday buttons! I still haven’t used mine but may get them out for my holiday cards now. Off to Pin…
