Summer Silhouettes for The Paper Players Challenge 240

The Paper Players have a lovely color challenge going on this week (actually ends tomorrow). I wanted to participate because it gives a tribute to three wonderful Stampin’ Up! In-Colors that will be retiring soon. These soft colors have been extremely popular the past two years.  Though I look forward to each year’s new In-Colors, it is especially difficult to say goodbye to the five colors from 2013 – 2015.  The two that are not mentioned here are Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar.  You will be seeing lots of projects using these In-Colors this April and May as we remind you to order what you want before they go away.

Summer Silhouettes, Kinda EclecticI chose the stamp set Summer Silhouettes to provide the primary floral focus.  My card for this challenge…

I added additional neutral colors to my card, namely Sahara Sand, Basic Gray and Whisper White.  The primary floral image was obtained by spritzing water on watercolor paper, adding Coastal Cabana ink to an acrylic block, stamped off once then applied to the dampened paper. I really like the effect.  The stems are Basic Gray and the flower head is Strawberry Slush.  The negative die cuts are from Coastal Cabana cardstock with Deco framelits and Sahara Sand cardstock with Labels framelits.  The Sahara Sand layer was dry embossed with Spring Flowers TIEFolder.

The butterflies and sentiment images are from Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  The remaining details are self explanatory.  However, please let me know if you would like additional information on this card.

Hope to see you again soon.  In the meanwhile,

Have fun stamping,

Such a pretty card Katy – I love the watercoloured flower stems and your creative double-frame around your image – not something I ever think to do yet it looks great. Thanks for joining in with my colour challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

Katy, I’m at a loss for words, beautiful doesn’t begin to say what this card is. I keep trying to find the right word, but I can’t . This card has a delicacy that truly touches me, I love it.
