The Pals’ July Blog Hop “Gifts from the Garden”

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!  This month our Design Team is showcasing “Gifts From the Garden.”  We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them!  Don’t forget to leave comments!  We love hearing from you.  At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Front view of my garden card

My Gifts from the Garden card utilizes one of my favorite stamp sets that returned to this year’s annual catalog.  It is called Positive Thoughts.  It contains 4 floral/nature images and 3 sentiments that are great for all occasion cards.  I paired it up with the Ornate Garden suite products and coordinating colors.  In addition to several new products from the annual catalog, there is 1 sneak peek of ribbon from the Holiday mini catalog which will be released to the public on August 4th.

Card Details
  • Stamp Set:  Positive Thoughts
  • Papers:  Very Vanilla, Shimmery White, and Terracotta Tile cardstock; Gold Foil; Ornate Garden Specialty designer series paper; Forever Gold Laser-Cut specialty paper
  • Inks:  Terracotta Tile, Mint Macaron, Bumblebee, Early Espresso, Gold pigment ink
  • Tools & Accessories:  Nature’s Thoughts dies, Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder, Gilded Gems, In Good Taste Elements, Mint Macaron Basket Weave ribbon (sneak peek from the Holiday Mini catalog), Gold Trim (Forever Greenery Combo Pack)

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I know it has been a while since I posted last.  I have a new puppy, Mia, who is a black Miniature Schnauzer born on Valentine’s Day this year.  Once again there is joy in my household!  Say “hi” to Mia…

Have fun stamping,

Katy

See, we’re all into that Gold Laser-cut paper right now — LOL 😉 What a good idea to pull out the Positive Thoughts stamp set we got in the Spring catalog; I sometimes forget what all we have, there’s just so much goodness in the SU! catalog!!! 😉 Hugs, Wendy

Hello Katy and Mia!! Lovely to see how you put your own stamp on this month’s hop! Such a wonderfully tailored and thoughtful card you’ve created here. So many beautiful layers and details perfectly composed!

  3. Mary Hanson

I love this card, Katy! The color combination is breathtaking and unexpected — love Terracotta touch, and of course, and elegant ‘zing’ of the gold foil. Beautiful!

  4. Rosanne Mulhern

Kadie, the first thing I noticed about your card was the awesome layout. I love all the layers and dimension, as well as the pretty texture. Outstanding card!

  5. Jeanie H Stark

Oh Katy, I love all the layers on your card! Positive Thoughts is one of my favorites too! Great to see you back! Hi to Mia! She’s adorable!!!!

Katy, I love all the gold on this card! (Also, lucky you to have the gold cord from the holiday catalog already!) Oh, but I wanted to ask, how does that gold cord compare to the one that comes in the Forever Greenery trim combo pack, if you have that, too?

Good eye, Amanda. I had to check my preorder list from the Holiday catalog to verify that I have not actually purchased the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack yet. I really wanted the Shaded Spruce ribbon but apparently it did not make my preorder. Next time, LOL… I have corrected my details in the post. Thank you, Pal!

I really wanted that Shaded Spruce ribbon, too! It’s on my preorder but my preorder is still in Utah, alas. When I saw your card I was like, hey, wait a minute, did I just preorder that lovely Shaded Spruce ribbon that also comes with a gold cord that looks totally identical to gold cord from the Forever Greenery ribbon pack? 😀 Thanks for clarifying for me!

Such a beautiful card Katy! This is one of my favorite sets too, and I’m so happy it carried over!

    Great new photo, my friend!
