Not featuring a specific stamp set for my blog post is something I don’t do often! But, I am the hostess for The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge theme, AND, I chose Wood Related.
How can you play? Upload a card that contains a wood-related item(s).
- It could be stamp images of trees, planks, knotholes (LOL),
- Or, a designer paper of trees, wood, etc.,
- Add texture with a wood grain embossing folder,
- And don’t forget that adding embellishments made of wood or resembling wood counts as well.
Use your imagination (but do give me a clue if you come up with something “far fetched”, LOL!) and come play along with us. It starts today and continues through Sunday, Oct 20th. As long as you follow the theme, I promise to leave you a comment!
Autumn is my most favorite season. And this Autumn took its sweet time getting here!! I love the colorful trees, the crisp mornings and walking through crunchy leaves discarded by Mother Nature as she prepares for rest. So, my card features a lot of details relating to Autumn.
Wood Related Details
- woodsy stencil
- woodsy embossing folder
- hard plank embossing folder (did you notice it on the “fall” letters as well as the Cajun Craze panel layer?)
- 4 wood embellishments
I made die cuts from several products, some of which were not Stampin’ Up! Most of the designer series paper and embellishments are from my retired stash. The sentiment “Hello” was borrowed from Good Morning Magnolia, and the maple leaf image is part of Rooted in Nature. Both of these stamp sets are current with Stampin’ Up! All lettering was obtained using Hand-Lettered Prose dies. This is a new die set for me, from this year’s annual Stampin’ Up! catalog. I couldn’t wait to use it! By the way, the inside lettering was die cut and then textured using an inked up Subtles embossing folder… I really like the effect!
I really hope to see you play along with us at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog! This is my first hostess challenge and I am looking forward to commenting on your creations!
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding my card. In the meanwhile,
Have fun stamping,
